Greg's Job

[Nederlands]    [Magyarul]

My research interest is in New Testament exegesis, Bible translations, Bibilical anthropology, and the history of exegesis (esp. the Reformation Period). (See under Greg's research).

I teach five courses on the New Testament at the Kairos programme of the Roman Catholic Seminary of Rolduc (Roermond, Netherlands):
  • Introduction to the New Testament
  • The Gospel of Mark
  • The Gospel of John, the Johannine Letters and Apocalyps
  • Passion Narratives
  • Resurrection Narratives

I train Dutch and Flemish students to become professional translators and/or interpreters in Hungarian at the Lessius College in Antwerp (Belgium), in association with the Catholic University of Leuven.

I teach several subjects:
  • Hungarian Linguistics in BA1, BA2 and BA3
  • Hungarian Writing Skills (mainly translations from Dutch into Hungarian and vice versa) in BA1 and BA3
  • Hungarian Cultural History in BA2 and BA3
  • I also conduct the Translation Workshop for Economic Texts in the MA programme.

I am also a sworn translator (authorized to translate and certify/notarise a document) for Hungarian, English and Dutch languages. Such a certified translation is an official, legally accepted document in its own right.

Previously I worked a.o. as the director of the Hungarian College in Leuven (Belgium).

I am a committed in researcher with much teaching experience in academic eductaion and in language training. Among others, I trained a group of professional interpreters working at the European Commission (under the auspice of CLL) between 2003 and 2006.
